A Telugu film Evars Atagaadu by which Priyamani made her debut in Telugu films and then with Sathyam Malayalam film industry.
But Malayalam film performed poorly at the box office. After all that Balu Mahendra a Tamil film director and cinematographer signed Priyamani to act in the 2005 drama Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam.

Carnatic Vocalist Kamala Kailas is the grandmother of Priyamani. She is the niece of playback singer Maludi Shubha and cousin of Indian film actress Vidya Balan.

Priyamani was born in Bengaluru in Karnataka state , India, on 4th June 1984. She is an Indian Film Actress, Model who is best known for her work with films in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil , Telugu and Hindi.

Priyamani's mother is Latha Mani and father is Vasudev Mani She has an old brother called Vishakh. She got married to Mustafa Raj, a Mumbai businessman since 2017. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is her cousin and her aunt is the playback singer Malgudi Subha.

Priya Vasudev Mani Iyer is the complete name of South Indian actress Priyamani. She is primarily from Bangalore, and was raised in the family of Tamil Iyer. Before she took up an acting career she was a model. She trained at Bangalore Sri Aurobindo Memorial School, and attended Bishop Cotton Women's College. She continues to pursue BA in psychology.

Career:

She had featured in Erode silks ads, Lakshmi Silks and other commercials while she was in college. When she was studying 12th, she obtained an offer to work in a film from a producer Bharathiraja.

Her first feature film in a lead role was Evare Atagaadu, a 2003 released Telugu movie. After that she got many opportunities from the film industries of Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. She has also worked for Bollywood films.

Her most popular film was a box office hit in Kannada Ram. Her performance was excellent in all the five languages which brought her many more opportunities and honors.

Her role as a village girl in a Muththazhagu Tamil movie earned her major acclaim and she even won the Best Actress Filmfare Award and National Film Award. For acting in the film Thirakkatha she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Malayalam. For the third time, Chaarulatha, a horror film, she has won Best Actress Filmfare award.
